The family of Patrick Dominic McGinley, Sr., 81, of Parsippany, NJ, is sad to announce his passing. He lived a good life and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Born in Donegal, Ireland, to William and Alice (Armstrong) McGinley, Patrick was one of four boys raised in Ireland. The family immigrated to America in 1959 and settled on Roseville Avenue in Newark, New Jersey, for a short time until they settled on N 9th Street. Patrick met the love of his life, Mary Gallagher of County Fermanagh, in McGovern’s Tavern in Newark, and together they raised their family in North Caldwell and Fairfield, New Jersey.
For many years, Patrick was the owner of Emerald Food Store on W 16th Street in New York, New York. He then worked as a chauffeur for the Smith and the Dav El Limo Companies before becoming an Executive Chauffeur for the.
Provident Loan Society of New York. Patrick was quick-witted with his dry sense of humor and uncomplicated view of the world. He was an avid landscaper, always having the most manicured lawn in the neighborhood. He also enjoyed cheering on his children and grandchildren at various sporting and Irish dancing events, rarely missing a game or performance or any opportunity to support his family.
